Step 1:

Take a clean bowl and soak soya beans in water for 12 hours or overnight if possible. Once soaked, you should make a paste just by blending it using a mixer. Take a pot and boil all the soya chunks in water. Now drain the hot water and transfer soya chunks to a clean bowl having cold water in it.

Step 2:

When the soya chunks become softer in cold water, drain the water and grind the soya chunks and make a paste. Now take the soya bean paste and mix it with soy chunks paste. Once you have a nice blended mixture, add the all-purpose flour and salt into the mixture. Make a nice dough with all the mixed ingredients.

Step 3:

It is time to give the chaap a good shape. To give it a shape, flatten out the dough at first using a rolling pin. Now simply cut long making out broad pieces. Take out long ice cream sticks and then wrap one long piece around the stick. Repeat the process for a large quantity. Once that is done, keep it to rest for 30 minutes. Take a pan with water and boil the rolled soya sticks.

Step 4:

Now it is time for you to let them cool down. Once, the water is boiled, drain it and then transfer all the soya sticks to a fresh bowl filled with cold water. Right, when they are cooled down, they are all set and you can use them to make several dishes.

  • When you are making dough, ensure that the quantity of water is not too much. If it becomes too much, then the dough will become softer and you won’t be able to roll them.
  • If you find out that the dough is too sticky to work with, then simply add some plain flour and mix all over again.
  • When you are grinding all the soya chunks, it is suggested that you drain all the excess water. Just squeeze enough to drain all the water and grind by sprinkling a little bit of water in case, you need it.
  • While you are adding boiled soya chap to the cold water, it will then stop the process of heating.
